How the Entertainment Industry is Adapting to The Pandemic - Recap
[addthis tool="addthis_inline_share_toolbox"]
If you missed our panel on how the entertainment industry if adapting to the pandemic, you’re in luck! – it’s now on our YouTube channel. Watch it here
Here are some of the things we learned:
Nostalgia is big. Starz audiences are watching moves like 13 Going on 30 and Pride & Prejudice. Hallmark is showing Christmas movies. James Taylor is showcasing his older music in his “Behind the Vault” social series.
The postponement of arena shows will create scheduling conflicts moving forward. Cancelled shows may not find it easy to find a venue, because other acts are already on the schedule for 2021 and beyond.
Put yourself in the position of the fans, and let your social strategy reflect that. (This should always be true, but especially now, and especially if you have a cancelled arena tour.)
When on camera, your background makes a difference. It shouldn’t say, “I’m a celebrity in my big house,” it should feel more homey, relaxed, family-oriented.
Not everything is bad. People aren’t so quick to anger in the social communities now. The usual complaints have been replaced by a feeling of unity and even – gasp! – patience.
Who’s nailing it? The Skeleton Twins dancing, Netflix table reads/behind the scenes, John Legend & Chrissy Teigen, Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman, DNICE. People are still having fun and appreciate other people and brands who bring something good to their day.
Who’s not? Almost all the fails have been from people: Gal Gadot & friends & their mansions, Vanessa Hudgens, Ellen.
Everyone is thinking about what entertainment will look like in a post-Coronavirus world.
