July Event: Save the World - How Non-Profits Are Nailing Social Media + Events

Can social media change the world? From walks to pledge drives, we wondered how a non-profit brings their biggest events to their online communities. We've arranged a panel of non-profit leaders from the American Cancer Society, NPR, and Heal the Bay to discuss the ways, unique and universal, that non-profit organizations combine events with social and digital marketing efforts.

Community organizers will outline different audiences their organizations serve, how they identify the goals inherent to different audiences and how distinct groups are targeted, among many other points of discussion. Bring your questions for the panel, as well!

Start the evening with the opportunity to meet and talk with panelists and other SMCLA attendees, board members and colleagues at 6:30 - the panel will begin about 7:30. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Panelists:

  • Dan Witzling - Sr. Director, Community Engagement, California Division, American Cancer Society, @AmericanCancer
  • Joanna Pawlowska - Manager, Generation Listen, NPR, @jojopawlo
  • Nick Colin - Communications Manager, Heal the Bay, @HealTheBay

Moderator:

Andrew Posey - Managing Partner, Blend Consulting Group, @AndrewBlends
